Portland Open Tip: Ben Kohles
Leads the tour for GIRs and his comparative lack of length off the tee doesn't hinder him as much at Pumpkin Ridge. Finished T8 here last year.
Ben Kohles won his first two starts on the Web.com Tour and is 0/106 since but the 28-year-old could be about to break his losing streak.
Kohles has enjoyed a really productive season making 15/20 cuts and, sat 43rd on the money-list, still has an outside chance of gaining a PGA Tour card with a strong finish to the season.
The problem for Kohles is that he struggles on the bigger courses, he is 135th in driving distance however he makes up for that with his excellent iron play and ranks first on tour for GIRs.
Witch Hollow at Pumpkin Ridge is one of the few courses where more modest hitters can compete with the tour’s bombers and Kohles took advantage finishing T8 here last year.
