Panama Claro Tips: Martin Piller

Bounced back to form in 2014 and did well to finish 29th on the money list considering his season only got underway in July.

For most Web.com Tour graduates reaching the PGA Tour is the pinnacle of their careers, unfortunately for Martin Piller it almost ruined him.

Piller earned his tour card for the 2011 season but that’s when it started to go wrong. Numerous missed cut sapped his confidence and led to a fallow three year period where he admits his short game “literally disappeared”.

The good news is in the second half of 2014 we saw a revitalised Piller. He won the News Sentinel Open and narrowly missed a PGA Tour card, finishing 29th on the money list, having started the year with conditional status.

Now an experienced member of the Web.com Tour, he will be familiar with most of the courses on the schedule including Panama Golf Club. His course record reads T64-T48-T33-MC.

With 3 wins in 102 start on tour, he’s got a good strike at this level and is overpriced at 80/1 (Bet365).
