Panama Claro Tips: Harold Varner
Ranked in the top-5 for driving distance and GIRs last season. A sure-fire winner if he can tighten up his short game.
After a mixed rookie season on the Web.com Tour this could be the year Harold Varner makes a breakthrough.
The fundamentals are all there. Last season he ranked fourth for driving distance and third for GIRs. The main thing holding him back is his putting.
Varner ranked 110th for putting average last season but that’s excusable considering it was the first time he’d had a look at the greens on tour.
With a year’s experience under the belt, I expect big things from Varner so don’t expect a price of 125/1 (Coral) for much longer.
