Mullinax Destined For Stardom

Panama Claro Championship Tips: Trey Mullinax

Potential star of the new Web.com season. Eighth in scoring average last season and finished T25 at the RSM Classic on the PGA Tour.

The new Web.com season gets underway in Panama on Thursday and one thing I’m certain of – Trey Mullinax will win this year.

The 24-year-old has pretty much everything you need to succeed on tour. He’s fearless, hits the ball a mile and can putt.

Last season, his first on tour, he ranked third for driving distance, eighth for scoring average and 15th in the all-around ranking.

The tight, quirky layout of Panama GC might not be ideal for a bomber like Mullinax but he finished T21 last year (on a sponsor’s invite) and finished T25 at the RSM Classic, another course you wouldn’t expect to suit.

The fact he has bagged a top-25 on the PGA Tour will give him a huge amount of belief because for most of this season he will be plying his trade in a lower grade.

The future looks bright for Mullinax and it won’t be long before quotes of 80/1 (Bet365) are consigned to history.
