Matthew The Right Fit

Matthew The Right Fit

Finished T26 last year and will enjoy the firm and fast conditions. Has four top-25s in last six starts.

Matthew Fitzpatrick enjoyed a stellar amateur career and looks like he’ll make it to the top of the professional ranks. He won the 2013 US Amateur Championship and was the low amateur at the 2013 Open and 2014 US Open.

The 20-year-old turned pro last year and successfully came through Q-school at the end of the season.

Fitzpatrick started the year with too many missed cuts but he’s hit form recently, with four top-25 finishes in his last six starts.

Crucially, Le Golf National is a perfect fit for his game. He is all about hitting fairways and greens and he finished an encouraging T26 last year.

The firm and fast conditions shouldn’t be an issue for a player who has a good record on links courses (T8 at Irish Open) and he is a good each-way bet at 80/1 with Paddy Power paying 1/5 odds for a top-7 finish.
