Open de Espana Tips: Fabrizio Zanotti

Twice a runner-up at PGA Catalunya; in the 2009 Open de Espana and at Final Qualifying last year.

The PGA Catalunya is an intermittent stop on the European Tour; it last hosted the Open de Espana in 2009 but has been the regular Q-School venue for the past six seasons.

Course form is hard to find but not many players have more experience at the venue than Fabrizio Zanotti.

The Paraguayan finished second behind Thomas Levet in the 2009 Open de Espana and was runner-up at the same venue in last year’s Q-School.

The 30-year-old was 14-under for his four rounds at the Stadium Course and it’s a layout that suits his eye.

He finished T3 in Madeira last week and although form from the island might be dubious he has three further top-30 finishes already this season. At 80/1 (Stan James) he is a cracking each-way bet.
