Open Championship Tips: Dustin Johnson

Keeps on knocking at the door at majors and one should eventually go his way.

It is another major therefore I have to go with my customary Dustin Johnson bet.

There is a danger I follow this chap off a cliff but he’s got the game to win a major and surely it’s just a matter of time until one falls his way.

The good news is that even when he isn’t winning we can still make a profit from our each-way bets.

The big hitting American finished T4 at the US Open, his seventh top-10 finish at a major since 2009. If you ignore his record at the Masters (nothing better than a T13) then his results look even better.

The 30-year-old is no longer a stranger to links golf, in the last five years he has finished MC-T13-T2-T9-T32 with a T2 at Royal St. George’s the one that got away.

I expect another bold showing from “DJ” and at 35/1 (William Hill) he is a cracking each-way bet with ¼ odds for a top-7 finish.

*Dustin Johnson is available at 40/1 in places but we recommend taking five points less for the extra each-way place.
