Open Championship Tips: Adam Scott

The world number one should be first in the betting. Finished top-3 in the last two Open Championships.

The first disparity when you look at the market for the Open Championship is that world number one Adam Scott is joint third in the betting.

That would make sense if he had a poor open record but he doesn’t.

The Australian threw away the 2012 Open Championship but overall his record is excellent. In the last five years he’s gone MC-T27-T25-2-T3 and can enjoy the tournament knowing he’s already got a major in the bag.

The 33-year-old also has the advantage of having played Royal Liverpool, finishing T6 in 2006.

We don’t get to see Adam Scott perhaps as much as we’d like but a light schedule means he arrives fresh.

He won at Colonial three starts back, has six top-10s in ten starts on the PGA Tour and looks a rock solid each-way bet at 16/1 (Bet365), with ¼ odds for a top-7 finish.

*Scott is available at 18/1 in places but we recommend taking a couple of points less for the extra each-way place
