OHL Classic Tip: Chez Reavie

OHL Classic Tip: Chez Reavie

Bounced-back well from an opening round of 76 last week to finish T24. Accurate player should be suited to El Camaleon

Chez Reavie has battled injury for the past couple of seasons but in 2016 he got a full campaign under his belt and finished a respectable 81st the FedEx Cup standings. With the very best players missing from the wraparound season, it’s the perfect opportunity to make further headway.

So far, Reavie’s finished T22-T60-T24 and staged a remarkable comeback at the Shriners, following an opening round of 76 with a 61 to make the cut.

Reavie’s forte is tee-to-green. Last season he ranked tenth in driving accuracy and 37th in GIRs, crucial elements at Mayakoba this week. The El Camaleon course isn’t long at under 7,000 yards but there is a premium on accuracy with the surrounding mangrove ready to swallow up anything wayward.

In three visits Reavie is yet to finish higher than T49 but his game is in good shape and the course plays to his strengths. At 150/1 (Paddy Power) he is worth an each-way bet with 6 places at 1/5 odds.
