OHL Classic Tips: Chris Stroud
An ever present in Cancun with three top-15 finishes to his name. Getting ever closer to that elusive first tour win.
Chris Stroud doesn’t have a PGA Tour win to his name but I get the feeling that will change very soon.
The 31-year-old has enjoyed the best 12 months of his career, earning in excess of $2million and coming close to that elusive first win. In June he lost in a play-off at the Travelers Championship, one of five top-10s finishes in 2013.
With the year drawing to a close, several golfers are off on their holidays but I doubt that ever crossed Stroud’s mind given his record in Cancun.
An ever present since the inaugural event in 2007, Stroud’s tournament record is MC-T12-T60-T40-4-T5.
With a recent T3 finish in Asia, Stroud returns to one of his favourite courses in great form. At 40/1 (Coral) he looks a cracking each-way bet with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
