Course Experience Key For Furyk

Makes his 18th appearance at Riviera and finished 2013 like a train, with five top-10s in his last seven starts.

There aren’t many players with more course experience in the field than Jim Furyk but his star isn’t fading quite yet and Riviera could be the place he wins on tour for the first time since 2010.

The 43-year-old has just enjoyed one of his best seasons in years, with seven top-10 finishes from just 22 starts in 2013.

His best form came towards the end of the season when he finished T9-T9-2-T6-T27-3-T14 and although he took a break over the winter, his confidence should still be sky high.

He dusted off the cobwebs with a respectable T35 at Pebble Beach last week and I expect a bold showing at the Northern Trust Open.

This will be Furyk’s 18th start at Riviera, a course where he has enjoyed six top-25 finishes. With that sort of consistency, he is a solid each-way bet at 40/1 (Paddy Power).
