News Sentinel Open Tips: Kyle Stough
Only made four cuts this season but his statistics tee to green have been good of late. Finished 10th on the Tour of Canada money list last year.
My final pick for the News Sentinel Open is bordering on lunacy but I don’t need much encouragement to back a 500/1 shot.
Kyle Stough has only made four cuts in 15 starts this season but two of them have come since the start of July.
At the Nova Scotia Open he finished T16 and there have been other reasons for optimism.
In the last two tournaments he’s gone T63-MC but tee to green his game has been good. His driving accuracy was over 78% and he hit 79% of GIRs at the Stonebrae Classic despite finishing adrift on Sunday.
Stough enjoyed a strong 2013 on the Tour of Canada and although the quality of competition is lower he finished runner-up twice and was 10th on the money list.
There is obviously some talent hidden away and a good week on the greens could make a mockery of his 500/1 (Skybet) quote.
