Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship: Trey Mullinax
Has endured another injury blighted season but finished T16 last week and underlying numbers (top-5 rank for driving distance and GIRs) suggest he is healthy and getting back to his best.
After another injury blighted season it would be fitting if Trey Mullinax were able to finish it on a high. The Korn Ferry Finals provide the last opportunity for players to gain a PGA Tour card and you need to be in form otherwise the chance disappears in a blink of an eye.
Like many, Mullinax will have been targeting these events and he played some excellent golf on a way to a T16 finish at the Boise Open last week. The 29-year-old only finished six shots off the lead but his underlying statistics were encouraging as he ranked in the top-5 for driving distance and GIRs on a tight-course that didn’t necessarily suit his game.
If he can continue that form, then he is plenty good enough to take a hand in these stronger fields.
