Finished the regular PGA Tour season ranked 56th in adjusted scoring average the best of those who have dropped into the Tour Finals.

The upper echelons of last year’s NCH Championship leaderboard was full of players who had dropped down from the PGA Tour to try regain their cards and the difference in class could be telling in the 2016 renewal.

The Scarlet Course at Ohio State University Golf Club is tough by Web.com Tour standards and since it became part of the Final Series the winnings scores have been -13, -6 and -5.

A lengthy par-71 at 7,455 yards it provides a thorough test and will play into the hands of Tim Wilkinson.


The New Zealander has enjoyed something of a journeyman career but he’s slightly unfortunate to find himself battling for a tour card because his play this season deserved better.

Wilkinson finished the regular PGA Tour season ranked 56th in adjusted scoring average, comfortably the best of those who now find themselves in the Tour Finals.

Consistency hasn’t been a problem for the 38-year-old he’s just been missing the big cheque that comes from a high finish. A matter he could put right in Ohio this week.

Wilkinson’s record at the OSU Golf Club is 50-54-MC-52-9, with the last two results coming since the tournament became part of the Tour Finals. On a course he knows well, he is overpriced at 80/1 (William Hill).
