El Bosque Mexico Championship Tips: Josh Teater
Missed the cut last week but never plays Victoria National well. Has four top-30 finishes the season and 3/3 in cuts made at El Bosque.
Having finished 2013 ranked inside the top-200 in the world, it’s been sad to see Josh Teater struggle. The 38-year-old’s game seemed to completely desert him for a couple of seasons but he’s on the way back.
Teater finished a respectable 36th on the Money List in 2016 and he doesn’t need to improve much to regain his PGA Tour playing rights.
One of the longest on tour, Teater’s done plenty of good things this season. He is in the top-20 for GIRs, putting, birdie and scoring average and should n’t have to wait long for his first top-10 of the season.
Teater is 4/6 in cuts made, all top-30s and his record at the El Bosque course is 14-45-52. I’m not fussed by a missed cut in Indiana last week on a tough course he’s never played well. He can bounce back at a decent price.
