El Bosque Championship Tip: Jose Toledo
Won in Central America last season in the Costa Rica Classic and only missed the cut in Colombia after a stumbling finish on Friday.
I’ve had a couple of punts on Jose Toledo already this season and whilst his price stays in the upper hundreds i’m happy to keep going back for more. The 31-year-old is on a run of three consecutive missed cuts but he showed up well in Colombia; opening with a 68 and only missing the cuts because of three bogeys in his final three holes on Friday.
The Guatemalan is still dining out on his truncated 2014 Web.com Tour season where he logged some impressive stats including ranking 17th in scoring average. There are also results to back up the statistics with a win last year in the Costa Rica Classic.
Central America has been kind to Toledo before and although this represents a step-up in grade from the LatinoAmerica Tour, he can catch his rivals cold early in the season as they adjust to unfamiliar surroundings.
