Maybank Championship Tip: Alexander Bjork
Started season strongly and plays well in Asia. Second in Hong Kong and finished T14 at the Shenzen International last year.
Alexander Bjork’s career is on an upwards trajectory and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he won on the European Tour this season. He won on the Challenge Tour in 2016 and in his first full season on the European Tour he finished 43rd in the Race To Dubai.
Last week the Swede finished in the log-jam for sixth but it was a good result because he’s not particularly long off the tee and Dubai might not have suited him.
The more technical tracks found in Asia seem to suit his game. His record in the Hong Kong Open is 45-2 and Bjork finished T14 at the Shenzen International last season. He should not be 60/1.
