Madeira Islands Open Tips: Lucas Bjerregaard
Yet to miss a cut on tour this season and can take advantage of a weaker field.
Considering he is a tour rookie, Lucas Bjerregaard has made a fine start to his career on the European Tour.
The young Dane is yet to miss a cut this season and has five top-25 finishes to his name.
If he carries on at this level he’s in with a chance of being named Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year, a title bestowed upon the last two winners of the Madeira Islands Open.
Rookies have a great record in Madeira because it is one of the weakest events on tour and the 22-year-old must be fancying his chances.
Last week he finished a respectable T38 in Singapore but couldn’t sink the necessary putts to contend.
Couldn't really get it going today. T38 and on to Madeira for next event. Enjoyed my first trip to Singapore!

He proved in Sotogrande that he can handle playing in the wind and he is a solid each-way bet at 25/1 (Ladbrokes) with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
