Made In Denmark Tip: Justin Walters

Ranked 27th on tour for strokes gained tee-to-green and another excellent ball-striking performance in Czech Masters where he ranked in top-20 for driving distance, accuracy & GIRs.

Justin Walters is hardly what you’d call prolific, with 1 win in 275 professional starts but he’s been playing much better than results of late would suggest.

At the close of round 3 in the Czech Masters he ranked in the top-20 for driving distance, accuracy and GIRs. It’s a pattern he’s replicated several times this season and he is 27th in strokes gained tee-to-green on the European Tour.

Putting is the problem for Walters but even a moderate week would see him contend at a price. Last season he finished T14 at the Made In Denmark, unfortunately the tournament moves from Himmerland to Silkeborg Ry GC which tempers enthusiasm but the course is an unknown to most of the players. From what little I can ascertain it is short (under 7,000 yards) but there is plenty of water in-play so control of the ball could be key. Walters has that in his favour and is worth the risk.
