Lyoness Open Tips: Richie Ramsay

Lyoness Open Tips: Richie Ramsay

Finished T11 on his Lyoness Open debut last year and ranked in the top-5 for driving accuracy and GIRs.

The US Open starts a week Thursday and as a result, the Lyoness Open lacks strength in depth. To put this into context Betting Bias muse, James Morrison is fifth in the betting at 28/1. At the same price we can back three-time tour winner Richie Ramsay and his game is trending in the right direction.

Like many of his peers, his season didn’t really getting started until mid-April but since then he’s finished T29-T24-T6-T54-T43.

The 32-year-old might not have quite reached the heights his Amateur career promised (he won the US Amateur in 2006) but injury problems have halted his progress in recent years. Thankfully the Scot is fit again and returned to the winner’s enclosure in a similar field in Morocco last season.

Ramsay finished an encouraging T11 on his first visits to Atzenbrugg last season and was able to rely on his terrific ball-striking as he finished the week ranked in the top-5 for driving accuracy and GIRs.

A repeat performance would put him close again and if he holes a few more putts, he could be the winner at 28/1 (Bet365)
