KLM Open Tip: Romain Langasque

Ranked 28th on tour for stroke average and playing well enough to breakthrough on the European Tour. One bad hole scuppered a top-30 on his last start.

I’ve invested a fair few pounds in Romain Langasque in the expectation that he will finally breakthrough on the European Tour and i’m going in again at the KLM Open. This famous tournament moves to the International in Amsterdam for the first time and that has the potential to confuse matters. There’s precious little about the course other than it being modern, having plenty of water but also elevation changes with sand dunes. Aesthetically it looks like Le Golf National and with finishes of T33-T50 at that event perhaps it will suit our Frenchman.

Langasque has been slightly inconsistent this season but when on song he’s been able to crack the top-10, something he has achieved four times. On his most recent outing he finished T48 in the European Master but was on course for a top-30 finish until derailed by a quadruple-bogey on a par-5 on Sunday.

If the putter heats up he could be in for another good week because ranked ninth on tour for strokes gained off the tee, he is one of the best drivers of the ball on tour.
