John Deere Classic Golf Tips: Charles Howell III

Charles Howell III on a good run

Has made the top-25 in four of his five visits to the course. Arrives in top form after consecutive top three finishes.

Growing up next to Augusta National, it was almost fate that Charles Howell III would turn into a professional golfer. Things haven’t quite gone so smoothly on his way to the top. After an excellent start to his career, the last three years have seen him go through a lean spell. Winless in that period, he dropped from number 42 in the world, all the way outside the top 150.

The last few months have seen a renaissance in his game and back in the top 100 he can kick on again. Two third place finishes in his last two tournament prove that Charles Howell III is getting close to his best.  He has now shot seven consecutive rounds below 70; showing the consistency that he has lacked in the last few years.

TPC at Deere Run is a venue that has been kind to him with finishes of: T39-T23-T22-T25-3. If his putter gets hot he can capitalise on his excellent form.

Back him each way with bookmakers paying 1/4 the odds for a top five finish.
