John Deere Classic Tips: Brian Harman

John Deere Classic Tips: Brian Harman

Won in 2014 and finished T24 last year despite ranking 66th in strokes gained putting. In good form prior to missed cut at Travelers.

A couple of years ago we landed a big pot when tipping Brian Harman to win the John Deere Classic at 100/1 and although he is less than half the price, form tends to repeat at this course.

Normally when a player wins an event he has to make plenty of putts, especially in a shoot-out like the John Deere however Harman lost strokes to the field on the greens on the way to victory in 2014.

It was a similar story last year, he finished T24 despite ranking 66th in strokes gained putting. Harman seems to go well in spite of his putting, imagine what would happen if the flat stick heated up!

Recent signs are good. Yes, he missed the cut at the Travelers but prior to that he’d finished 25-33-29-8-23 and gained strokes on the field putting in four of his last six starts.

TPC Deere run doesn’t punish the 29-year-old’s deficiencies off the tee meanwhile he ranks 13th on tour in strokes gained putting. Without the pressure to defend the title, he should go well at 45/1 (Stan James) with ¼ odds for a top-6 finish.
