Warren At Home By The Sea

Marc Warren knows how to play links golf, with two top-3 finishes at the Scottish Open. Weather not an issue either as he proved when victorious in Denmark.

The Irish Open has a new sponsor and a new home at Royal County Down. With no competitive course experience to call upon I’m focusing on proven links golfers.

Having grown up in Scotland, Marc Warren falls into that category.

The 34-year-old has twice finished third at the Scottish Open, at Castle Stuart and Royal Aberdeen, both links courses. Last year he also shot an amazing third round 66 in windy conditions en route to victory in Denmark.

Warren has failed to finish outside the top-25 in his last six European Tour starts, which includes a T18 at Wentworth that promised much more.

His record in the Irish Open is good, five top-30s from 8 attempts and at 50/1 (Stan James) he is a cracking each-way bet with ¼ odds for a top-6 finish.
