Chapchai Nirat Given Second Chance

Indian Open Tip: Chapchai Nirat Given Second Chance

Didn’t have the length for Black Mountain but should be suited by a tight layout in India. Finished T12 last year.

Chapchai Nirat couldn’t get the job done in Thailand last week and after a promising start our tip faded over the weekend.

In hindsight, backing him at Black Mountain was probably a mistake. His course record is good but the leaderboard was dominated by bombers and he simply doesn’t have their length off the tee.

The New Delhi course provides a completely different challenge and one that is likely to suit the Thai golfer.

The par-71 measures just 6,923 yards but is incredibly tight, last year’s winning score was 7-under and there were disasters on almost everyone’s cards.

Nirat opened with a stunning round of 65 last year and although he plateaued thereafter he still finished a respectable T12.

Even accounting of a poor finish in Thailand, his current form reads T16-T8-T15-T36-T67 and that makes him an excellent bet this week at 90/1 (Bet365).
