CareerBuilder Challenge Tips: Michael Kim

CareerBuilder Challenge Tips: Michael Kim

Has dipped under 70 is 14/18 rounds this season and made the cut in La Quinta last year.

Michael Kim never really threatened to get involved in the Sony Open last week but he shot rounds of 67-67-68-66 which means he has now broken 70, in 14 of his 18 rounds this season. That sort of scoring sees him sat 27th in adjusted scoring average and playing a good deal better than his odds would suggest.

Kim’s good results have been fuelled by a hot putter (third in strokes gained putting) and at an event where the scoring is traditionally low, that can be no bad thing.

Twelve months ago he finished T70 at the CareerBuilder and although nothing special it means he built up four rounds of experience. With a T3 at the Safeway Open already in the bag this could be the breakout season for the talented 23-year-old.
