Frys.com Open Tips: Andres Romero

Finished the 2013/14 season making eight consecutive cuts and capable of going low when on song.

The Frys.com Open marks the start of the new PGA Tour season and it is all change. Silverado Country Club hosts the tournament for the first time, which means we have precious little course form to go on.

A par-72 that can measure 7,203 yards it is not especially long and being a resort course, scoring should be low. If the tournament descends into a shoot-out, Andres Romero is someone to have on side.

The Argentinian is inconsistent but when he’s hot he can shoot a very low score, the Shriners Open was a perfect example when he went 61-81 in the first two rounds.

The 33-year-old finished the season in less erratic fashion, making eight consecutive cuts with one top-five finish.

He’s an excellent putter and the type of player who can spring up from nowhere to win. At 110/1 (Coral) he is worth the risk with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
