Great Day For Repeat

Farmers Insurance Open Tips: Jason Day

Torrey Pines is the perfect test for someone as long as Jason Day and the extra places make him an each-way bet to nothing.

This season feels like the best players on tour will dominate, making it difficult to land many triple-figure wins. However, we saw last week with Rory McIlroy it is possible to eek out a profit on big names and that is my play again.

Regards Jason Day there isn’t much more to add than has already been said.

At the back-end of last season, he elevated his game to a new level, thanks in part to a hot putter as he won four times in his last eight starts.

He dusted off the cobwebs with a T10 at the Tournament Of Champions, where he seemed to get better with every round and should be cherry ripe for his defence at Torrey Pines.

In truth the course is ideal for him. It is long and tough and a proper test for a player who finished first in the PGA Tour’s all-around ranking.

Day has cracked the top-10 in his last three visits to the Farmers Insurance Open and with Paddy Power paying two extra places he is a great each-way bet at 7/1 with 1/5 odds for a top-7 finish.
