Has finished T23-T3-T9-MC-7 in the last five European Masters and generally good for one win per season.

Jamie Donaldson was rarely sighted during the Open Championship but he shot four rounds of 72 or better and finished a respectable T49.

The Welshman has spent most of they year attempting to crack the PGA Tour and although he’s registered two top-10s they’ve been interspersed with too many missed cuts.

This weekend he finds himself in more familiar territory on the European Tour and I expect a bold bid in Switzerland.

Donaldson has finished T23-T3-T9-MC-7 in the last five European Masters and it is a tournament he’d dearly love to win. He went closest in 2011, when leading going into the final round but he couldn’t make enough birdies on Sunday as the field stormed past.

The 39-year-old has managed a win in each of the last three seasons and he can keep the active streak going at 22/1 (Sportingbet).

Note: Ladbrokes go 25/1 but I recommend using Sportingbet who are paying the extra each-way place, with ¼ odds for a top-6 finish.
