European Masters: Richie Ramsay

Accuracy and experience gives this past champion an edge around Crans-sur-Sierre. Arrives in excellent form; barely missed a cut all year and finished in top-30 in last five starts on tour.

The European Tour returns to the iconic Crans-sur-Sierre this week for the European Masters and the betting is wide open. Sebastian Soderberg managed to win on his course debut in 2019 but generally it is a course that lends itself to experience. It’s not long, especially when you factor in the altitude but it’s tricky.

Richie Ramsay won this event in 2012 and with a couple of further top-10s to his name, it is a course he knows how to play well. The Scot arrives in excellent form with five consecutive top-30 finishes on the European Tour. His consistency this year has been remarkable, just one missed cut since February and his accuracy off the tee is well suited to this tree-lined course.

Ramsay doesn’t have the firepower to contend week-in, week-out but playing well this looks his best opportunity to add to his tally of tour wins.
