Canizares Capable Of Going Low

Canizares Capable Of Going Low

Shown glimpses of form recently, shot an opening 65 at the Scottish Open and can go very low on his day.

Alejandro Canizares momentarily got our hopes up after shooting an opening 65 at the Scottish Open a fortnight ago. He couldn’t kick-on and a dreadful Friday round saw him miss the cut.

Seeing as I’m a ‘glass half full’ type of person let’s focus on the positives at Gullane and hope he can carry his best form to Switzerland.

The omens are good. He has three top-11 finishes at the European Masters and although he has missed numerous cuts as well, his best is very competitive.

The 32-year-old thrives on easy courses; he won the Trophee Hassan on 19-under and the 2006 Russian Open on 22-under.

Canizares is capable of shooting extremely low rounds and hopefully he can see it through for four days because at 125/1 (Coral) he is an excellent each-way bet.
