Hend A Helping Hand

Hits it long but not particularly straight therefore the wide fairways at Emirates GC will be more to his liking than Qatar last week.

Scott Hend gave us a good run for our money when finishing T31 in Abu Dhabi and at a three-figure price, he’s worth the risk again.

The 41-year-old has spent most of his career in Asia but his recent win in Hong Kong has opened the door to the European Tour and he has the tools to shine.

The Australian is one of the longest hitters around therefore the generous fairways at the Emirates GC should suit him.

Last week he missed the cut in Qatar but Doha is widely regarded as the toughest of the three Desert Swing courses, so expect him to bounce back quickly.

Hend finished T29 last year and has a best finish of T14 in 2008. His course form has gone largely unnoticed by the layers and at 250/1 (Paddy Power) he is a cracking each-way bet with ¼ odds for a top-6 finish.
