Gallacher Can Land Hat-Trick

Has won the last two renewals of the Dubai Desert Classic and shook off the cobwebs with an encouraging T31 in Qatar.

Winning back-to back editions of the Dubai Desert Classic was some feat by Stephen Gallacher but does that mean a hat-trick of titles becomes harder or easier to achieve?

It is a question I’ve battled with for a while and ultimately I’d rather have course form on my side.

The 40-year-old Scot actually did his best to lose the tournament last year. After a horrendous front-nine on Sunday, he showed great character to battle back with four birdies on the final nine holes.

The manner of that victory must give Gallacher an air of invincibility around the Emirates GC and that can only be a positive.

A closing round of 67 in Qatar suggests his game is coming to the boil and at 28/1 (Betfred) he is a good each-way bet on a course he clearly loves.
