DAP Championship Tips: Scott Stallings
Three-time winner on PGA Tour who missed a card by three places. Looks a cut above this level.
With 3 PGA Tour wins in 156 starts, Scott Stallings is one of the more decorated professionals lining up at Cantebury GC and although he’s finds himself battling the Finals for a reason, he might be able to outclass his opponents.
The problem has been consistency, Stallings missed 15/27 cuts and drifted out of the top-125 of the FedEx Cup in the final weeks of the season. A T16 at the John Deere Classic showed his fighting spirit but it was not enough as he missed a tour card by three places.
It’ll be interesting to see how Stallings reacts to the dent in his pride but there is no doubt he is a proven winner.
A strong player tee-to-green (ranked 63rd on tour), his weakness is on the greens but on a tough championship course the cream should rise to the top. A past winner at Torrey Pines, he can get the job done this week at 66/1 (Skybet).
