Dean & Deluca Invitational Tips: William McGirt
Already eclipsed his best year in terms of earnings with almost half the season still to go. Has made the cut in 4/5 visits to Colonial.
Jordan Spieth and Adam Scott head the betting for the newly sponsored Dean & Deluca Invitational (formerly Crowne Plaza) but both have gone off the boil and we could have surprise winner at Colonial.
The course takes some knowing with past winners all having garnered plenty of experience prior to their wins. William McGirt is having his sixth try and having previously finished 31-63-MC-21-33, he could step up and challenge the leaders.
It’s already a career year in terms of earnings for McGirt and sat 37th in the FedEx Cup his focus should be on getting his first tour win.
There’s been plenty of good performances from the 36-year-old this season and his form has recovered after a momentary blip early in the spring. At the Players he shot a second round 65 to show what he’s capable of and more of the same is required.
Ranked 21st in adjusted scoring average he shouldn’t be 125/1 (Skybet) in the betting.
