Crowne Plaza Invitational Tips: Brian Stuard

Game is suited to the tactical nature of Colonial and finished T5 at the RBC Heritage, which poses a similar test.

The Crowne Plaza Invitational has a habit of going to grizzled veterans but although Brian Stuard is only 31, he has a game that is mature beyond his years.

Unlike many of his contemporaries, Stuard isn’t a power hitter and instead plots his way around the course. He ranks 100th for ball striking but 27th for scrambling and 38th for fairway proximity.

Stuard is still searching for his first tour win but he has a clutch of top-10s this seasons and finished T5 at Harbour Town on a course similar to Colonial.

A T22 on debut last year was encouraging and he can build on that at 150/1 (Bet365).
