Corales Puntacana Resort Tips: Keith Mitchell
Has limited starts but leads the tour in total driving and finished T7 at the Dominican Republic Open (on a different course) last year.
With this week’s Web.com Tour event being staged in the Dominican Republic it might be worthwhile sticking with players who have experience of the LatinoAmerica Tour.
After failing to gain a Web.com Tour card through Q-School in 2014, Keith Mitchell decided to compete on the LatinoAmerica Tour and the tour rookie thrived in his new surroundings.
Mitchell finished the season strongly with three top-5s in his last five starts, enough to get him a limited number of starts on the Web.com Tour.
The 24-year-old started the year strongly with a T14 in the Panama Claro, good enough to get him a start in the Colombia Championship where he finished T38. Starts since then have been difficult to come by but he’s impressed on the few occasions he’s teed it up.
Mitchell currently leads the tour in total driving, he is both long and straight and that will be a huge asset on the Corales course than stretches beyond 7,600 yards. Last year he finished T7 at the Dominican Republic Open and is 500/1 with Coral.
