Colombia Championship Tips: Austin Cook

Colombia Championship Tips: Austin Cook

Finished T21-T15 in the Bahamas and terrific tee-to-green. Won’t be long before he’s on the PGA Tour.

For a player who has six top-25 finishes in just ten PGA Tour starts, the Web.com is a level below where he should be playing. Many expected Austin Cook to graduate from the Web.com Tour last season but he finished 43rd on the regular season money list and 34th in the Finals.

It was a frustrating campaign for the 26-year-old but he hit the ground running in the Bahamas. In difficult conditions, he finished T21-T15 and his accuracy should be an asset in Colombia.

Last season Cook ranked 10th in total driving and 22nd in GIRs, which suggests there isn’t a lot wrong tee-to-green. The only criticism is he lacked a big finish last year but that will come if he keeps knocking on the door.  Last year he finished T53 in this event but the course should suit and he is a good bet at 55/1 (Paddy Power).
