Colombia Championship Tips: Anders Albertson

You don’t need to find many positives when backing a 500/1 (Bet365) shot, the price alone is enticing but I’m surprised the bookies have completely discarded Anders Albertson this week in Colombia.

Ok, he missed the cut last year but at least he has experience of playing the course and his best result of the season came in South America, a third place at the Brasil Champions.

There were far too many missed cuts inbetween (15/23) but this 23-year-old can play. He finished the season 56th on the money list and ranked 22nd on tour for ball striking. Albertson’s strength is tee-to-green and that is a big asset this week on the tree-lined Bogota course.

So far, this season he’s finished T32-MC but the wind-swept Bahama Swing isn’t a brilliant form guide. Hopefully, he will instead be inspired by Georgia Tech teammate and close friend Ollie Schniederjans’s exploits on the PGA Tour.
