Colombia Championship Tips: Aaron Watkins
Lost in a playoff in 2010 and shaped as if in form with a T6 finish in Panama.
Aaron Watkins might only be 32 but he plays like an old man!
Perhaps slightly cruel but last season he averaged 280 yards with the driver, placing him 131/145 in driving distance.
That handicap off the tee means he simply cannot compete at some venues but thankfully, the Country Club of Bogotá isn’t one.
In four visits to Colombia he has finished P2-T13-MC-MC and his T6 in Panama last week suggests he is in good form.
Watkins finished 28th on the Money List last year just missing out on a PGA Tour card, an experience he won’t want to repeat in 2015.
At 40/1 (Paddy Power) he is a solid each-way bet with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
