CIMB Classic Tips: David Lipsky

Finished 11th on the Asian Tour Order of Merit as a rookie with a T3 at the 2012 Malaysian Open. Winner on the European Tour this year.

Americans have won all four editions of the CIMB Classic and that record could continue in the unlikely guise of David Lipsky.

European golf followers will be familiar with the 26-year-old after he won the European Masters in September but he qualifies for the CIMB Classic due to his Asian Tour exploits.

Lipsky finished 11th on the Asian Tour Order of Merit as a rookie and despite going to college in the United States he’s largely built his career away from home.

Born to a Korean mother, Lipsky will be used to humid conditions in Kuala Lumpur and can put his course experience to good use, having finished T3 at the 2012 Malaysian Open.  At 100/1 (Stan James) he is a cracking each-way bet.
