CIMB Classic: Hudson Swafford

CIMB Classic: Hudson Swafford

Hasn’t missed a cut since the start of May and finished T24 on debut last year getting better with each round.

With the new PGA Tour season already up and running it almost feels like a continuation of the 2015/16 campaign because the hot players haven’t had time to cool down.

Hudson Swafford opened the new season with a T62 finish and you have to go back to the Zurich Classic at the start of May to find the last time he missed a cut. In short Swafford is playing well and has been doing so for a long time.

The 29-year-old is still searching for his first tour win but the wealth of experience he has built up will stand him in good stead. This is his fourth season on tour and he should be eyeing up a win.

A terrific driver of the ball (ranked third in total driving) he will create plenty of birdie opportunities and although his scrambling needs to improve, this week’s course isn’t especially tough.  Last year he finished T24 on his first look at Kuala Lumpur G&CC getting better with every round.

At 125/1 (Bet365) he is a good each-way bet with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
