CIMB Classic Golf Tips: Seung-Yul Noh

One of the most exciting talents in the game and a previous winner in Malaysia.

With several golf tournaments taking place this week, the field for the CIMB Classic has a fragmented look. Tiger Woods is the star name, but behind him you have Jason Dufner and Bo Van Pelt at single figures in the betting. Both are very fine golfers but their odds look cramped.

I’ve been singing the praises of Seung-Yul Noh all season and at 22/1 (Betfred) this might be the week he finally gets the win. The 21-year-old Korean is one of the most exciting prospects in world golf and he’ll be keen to make a mark in one of Asia’s big tournaments.

A return to Malaysia should bring back happy memories; he became the second youngest winner on the European Tour when he captured the Maybank Malaysian Open in 2010.

Since then his game has continued on a steep ascent. He’s comfortably retained his PGA Tour card this season with thirteen top-25 finishes. Ending on a high with T13-T16 finishes in the Playoffs.

He hits the ball a mile, finds plenty of greens and can putt; a lethal combination on any golf course. With the added incentive to perform well in front of a large Asian TV audience, he looks the each-way value at 22/1 (Betfred), with ¼ odds for a top-4 finish.
