China Open: Pablo Larrazabal

Excellent record in Asia and finished third at this course last year, when looking the likely winner at the half-way stage. Missed cut in Morocco the only blip.

Pablo Larrazabal had a fairly horrible time at the Trophee Hassan II but it’s not worth dwelling on for too long because his form was trending in the right direction. His last six starts have produced finishes of 3-44-4-4-21-MC and he looks very close to putting four excellent rounds together.

He looked very good at this event last year. Taking the Topwin course apart during the week with rounds of 64-66 before stalling over the weekend.

Larrazabal is a proven winner at this level and has a very good record in Asia. He finished third at the Maybank (second top-10 at the event) and has three further top-10s at the China Open and a couple of top-25s at the Shenzhen International. Throw in three top-10s at the Hong Kong Open and his record in China/Malaysia is 13 top-25 finishes (nine top-10s) from 21 starts.
