Canadian Open Tips: Robert Garrigus

Runner-up in 2012, he returns to Canada in reasonable form with three top-30 finishes in his last five starts.

Robert Garrigus has enjoyed a solid rather than spectacular year but he’s the type of player to pop-up and win this kind of tournament.

The 36-year-old passed up a golden opportunity in 2012 when he finished T2 at the Canadian Open having gone into the final round with a one shot lead.

One of the longest hitter on tour, much will depend on his accuracy off the tee, but the Blue Course at Royal Montreal isn’t the longest meaning he won’t always need to hit driver.

A couple of starts back he finished T11 at Congressional and at 80/1 (Ladbrokes) he is a decent each-way bet with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
