Finished T10 on debut last year and enjoying an excellent season on the PGA Tour.
Ryo Ishikawa has carried the hopes of a nation since a young age but there are signs he’s starting to fulfil his potential, especially now he has Hideki Matsuyama sharing the burden of expectation.
The 22-year-old is enjoying his best ever season on the PGA Tour, he sits 39th in the FedEx Cup and has four top-25 finishes in his last six tournaments stateside.
Ishikawa also finished an encouraging T10 at the Byron Nelson last year despite struggling on the greens.
He arrives in good form after a T5 in Japan and this could be the event where he makes a big breakthrough on the PGA Tour. At 66/1 (Bet365) he is a good each-way bet with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
