Byron Nelson Tip: JT Poston

Reaping rewards of improved status on PGA Tour and has already matched last year's earnings. Played well for T26 here last year hitting over 80% of fairways and GIRs.

After scrambling around for starts on the PGA Tour last season things are going much better for JT Poston. He’s already matched last season’s earnings and has seven more starts under his belt than at this stage last year.

The 25-year-old is used to making the best of a bad situation, he started the 2016 season with no status whatsoever but finished it with promotion from the Web.com to the PGA Tour. It’s now time for Poston to start challenging for a win and build on the two top-10s he has this season.

Last year Trinity Forest Golf Club turned into something of a shoot-out and it’s layout seemed to suit the man from Hickory, North Carolina. Poston hit on average over 80% of fairways and greens, he simply didn’t hit it close enough to flags or make enough putts to contend.

Currently 44th in adjusted scoring average this season, Poston has been making gains on the field compared to last year and with hit putting also improved, this is the sort of event he can steal whilst the big guns have one eye on the US PGA next week.

Coral are offering JT Poston at 100/1 with 7 places at 1/5 odds.
