British Masters Tips: Mike Lorenzo-Vera
Enjoying fine run of form with finishes of 12-8-72-13-31 in last five starts. Has gone close on a couple of occasions this season and T5 last year.
Mike Lorenzo-Vera is still looking for his first win on the European Tour but in the last couple of years his game has stepped up a level and only now does he look capable of breaking through.
The Frenchman is currently enjoying his best spell of the season with finishes of 12-8-72-13-31 in his last five starts. Most pleasingly this isn’t just down to a hot putter.
At the Dunhill Links he ranked ninth in GIRs (83.3%) and it was a similar story at the European Open where he ranked eleventh (77.8%).
A couple of times he’s stumbled when in contention most notably at the Open de Espana and BMW International Open but he will have learned from those experiences. If he is near the top of the leaderboard on Sunday, we can expect a better effort and at 125/1 a win isn’t as fanciful as the price. Back him with Skybet and get 6 places at 1/4 odds.
