British Masters: James Morrison

Delving into unknown territory this week but UK based players could have advantage. During lockdown Morrison shot a 58 to break his course record at St. George's Hill; might mean nothing but worth the risk.

The European Tour is stepping up in quality this week with the British Masters at Close House. With a strong field we have more imponderables as the top of the market is full of players making their returns to professional competition. We are guessing at what sort of shape their games are in but there might be clues floating about ob the Internet.

During lockdown James Morrison shot 58 to break his own course record at St George’s Hill golf club and although a friendly game, it sounds like he has been working hard and his game is in good shape. I suspect given the upheaval of recent months the UK based players could have an advantage.

Morrison has endured a couple of fallow years but before the break he finished T21 in Qatar and his world ranking was moving in the right direction. He could spring a small surprise.
