BMW PGA Championship Tips: James Morrison

BMW PGA Championship Tips: James Morrison

Finished T11 last year and arrives in good form after top-10s at Valderrama and the K Club.

In last week’s preview for the Irish Open I suggested it was worth keeping James Morrison on-side in case he peaked a week early and he almost did, finishing T10 having gone off at 175/1. His exploits at the K Club means his price has shortened for the PGA Championship but I still really like his chances.

Last season he was well placed after two rounds (only two shots behind eventual winner Ben An) but it all went wrong on Saturday. Nevertheless, he bounced-back on Sunday and eventually finished T11, his second top-15 at the event.

The 31-year-old is a local lad and will know Wentworth inside out, a useful edge on a course that takes some learning. Winner of the Open de Espana, he can close out big tournaments and looks in good form. As well as his T10 at the Irish Open, he finished T4 at Valderrama which suggests his game is in good shape.

At 80/1 (Stan James) he is a cracking each-way bet with ¼ odds for a top-6 finish.
